Considered in general terms, Florida is a vacation state. It boasts long stretches of golden sand beaches, an active night scene, a host of natural attractions and a variety of eateries that serve the best American and Mexican Cuisines. However, none of its many holiday hotspots can rival Fort Myers Beach in Lee County's Estero Island. The town is a hot bed of tourist activities as espoused below.

5 things to do in Fort Myers Beach

Considered in general terms, Florida is a vacation state. It boasts long stretches of golden sand beaches, an active night scene, a host of natural attractions and a variety of eateries that serve the best American and Mexican Cuisines. However, none of its many holiday hotspots can rival Fort Myers Beach in Lee County's Estero Island. The town is a hot bed of tourist activities as espoused below.

1. Shells collection

If you love collecting things, why not start collecting some things that are worth some few dollars? Fort Myers is a shell collector's paradise. Its beaches boasts some of the most beautiful sea shells you can find anywhere on the globe. Among the most popular include those from fighting conchs, horse conchs, corkscrew-shaped augers, calico scallops, starfish, banded tulips, and sand dollars.

2. Nature Walk at the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve

Trust me; if you are vacationing with the kids, this is a must-visit-must-walk trail. You will get to see alligators, large turtle and lots of birds. You will the new hero in the eyes of your kids.

3. Picnic and sightsee at Edison & Ford Winter Estates

With a series of historic buildings and 20-acres of botanical gardens, you will not fall short of something to explore. While at it, why don't you indulge in a romantic picnic on the beautiful grounds? It is stuff like this that makes fond memories.

4. Enjoy some water sports

Kayak and Jet Ski rentals dot the landscape. You can get a kayak and venture into the Gulf of Mexico to the West and Estero Bay to the east for a session of exercising your arm ligaments and sightseeing.

5. Romantic Sunset Cruises

You can rent a Pontoon Boat or a Casino M boat and set sail into the Gulf of Mexico. You can then watch the sun sink as you share a bottle of expensive champagne with your loved one.

While in Fort Myers Beach, you will never fall short of fun activities to engage in. It is a preferred holiday destination by many residents of the State of Florida and beyond.
